What is IELTS?
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is extremely popular with people who plan to study or work in another country, and who need to prove their English language skills. The qualification is accepted by employers, universities and government agencies around the world. We help people prepare for both the Academic and General Training IELTS test.
We also help people prepare for the IELTS Life Skills test. This is an English test for people who need to demonstrate their speaking and listening ability as part of a UK visa or immigration application. The IELTS Life Skills test is available at three levels on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) scale: A1 (Beginner), A2 (Elementary) and B1 (Intermediate).
The IELTS test has two main versions: Academic and General Training. The Academic IELTS test is designed for people who need to demonstrate that they have the English language proficiency required in academic, higher education situations. The General Training IELTS test is designed for people who need to show that they have the English language proficiency needed in workplace and social situations.
The IELTS test has four parts: Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. An IELTS certificate is valid for two years. There is no pass or fail grade in the IELTS test: each of the test’s nine bands relates to a level of competence in English.
Who is IELTS for?
The IELTS test is a good choice for people who plan to work or study in an English-speaking environment. IELTS is an internationally recognised qualification that shows individuals’ level of English language proficiency. Course participants can decide whether to prepare for the Academic or General Training IELTS test, according to their professional or academic goals, or visa requirements.
Our IELTS preparation courses are suitable for people with levels of English between intermediate (B1) and advanced (C2), with a minimum age of 16.
